With a passion and commitment to environmental sustainability, Edward brings a fresh perspective and innovative solutions to complex legal challenges.

Edward works alongside FWO’s Environment and Planning team in matters involving compliance, environmental licensing, contamination, resource recovery and regulatory disputes. Edward advises on issues such as land use planning, tree disputes, pollution control and environmental impact assessments. Edward’s comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and the Trees (Disputes Between Neighbours) Act 2006, means that he can advise on the merits and shortfalls of each case with strategic advice and direction. Edward confidently represents clients in the Land and Environment Court NSW.

Edward also has an avid interest in Carbon Farming and ACCUs (Australian Carbon Credit Units) which are regulated by the Australian Clean Energy Regulator. Edward advises on contracts with Carbon Credits and plays a pivotal role in serving as a legal advisor to prominent waste organisations and individuals across NSW by providing comprehensive planning and environment advice. Edward’s expertise has been demonstrated in compliance strategies, environmental licensing, contamination management and optimising resource recovery initiatives. Edward is instrumental in navigating regulatory disputes and offers strategic guidance on contractual arrangements for waste service delivery.

Edward contributes to the firm’s exclusive advisory role for the Waste Contractors and Recyclers Association (WCRA), providing legal support that aligns with industry standards and regulatory frameworks. Edward also advises the Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA) on sustainable practices that comply with the waste management sector rules and regulations.

Commercial and Civil Litigation

Edward works alongside Stephen Campbell and represents clients at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) for contractual disputes, building disputes and alleged breaches of the Home Building Act 1989. Working on matters that require expert evidence, Edward is involved with the Master Builders Association of NSW (MBA).  Edward also assists with matters relating to the Dividing Fences Act 1991 and the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1990 which are complimented by his agricultural background.

Should a matter require judicial determination, Edward is prepared to handle a range of disputes to strongly advocate for a fair and reasonable outcome. Edward has been involved in many Court matters working alongside counsel and expert witnesses to reach solutions that are favourable for his clients.
